Who's in the room

A few thousand people who make things.

  • Founders. People with budgets and products that need shipping.
  • Creators. Channels that need editors, shooters, designers.
  • Builders. Your peers. The people you'll collaborate with.
  • Toolmakers. The teams behind the AI tools you use every day.

What you leave with

A public page with your work on it.

  • People to work with. Scan, save, follow up.
  • The tools to work faster. Every attendee leaves with free credits and accounts from our partners.

The format

Two days. Keynotes, panels, booths, workshops. Night.

  • Keynotes. Big ideas from people who've done it.
  • Panels. Honest talk, no pitches.
  • Booths. Try the tools with the people who built them.
  • Workshops. Hands on, small rooms.
  • Night. You know.

Speakers & partners

Announced once the city is.

  • Announced once the city is. Think you belong on stage?
  • Attendees pay nothing. Partners fund the whole event.
  • 8 partner slots. 8 left.

You don't need more clients. You need the right context.

One conversation with someone who's hiring beats a hundred cold DMs. That's the whole idea. Put the people who build next to the people who need builders, and let context do the work.

A note from Daniel
Daniel Dalen, founder of context-con

I've been hosting meetups all over the world, and they've been the highlight of my career. Every one of them came together on 24 to 48 hours' notice, and every time the room was full of people who wanted to build something.

At some point I asked myself: what if I actually hosted a real conference, and brought like-minded people together who want to build together? That's how context came about.

It's a two-day event, free for attendees. I'll bring everyone in my network to the table, and obviously you. But I need your help to make it work. Vote for the location, and we'll host it there.

Thank you all.

FAQ

Is it really free?+

Yes. There is no ticket. Partners fund the venue, the stage, the food and the credits you leave with. The only thing you pay for is getting there.

Where is it?+

Wherever wins the vote. Voting runs until 1 November. The day after, we announce the city, lock a venue, and start building the program around the people who voted there.

When is it?+

Two days, most likely in December, in the winning city. Exact dates follow the venue. Everyone who voted gets the dates by email the moment they're set.

What actually happens over the two days?+

Keynotes in the morning, panels and workshops in the afternoon, booths where you try the tools with the people who built them, and a night that is not optional. Small rooms where it matters, one big room where it counts.

Who is this for?+

People who make things on the internet. Creators building audiences, the videographers, designers, motion artists and engineers they hire, founders turning both into companies, and the teams behind the AI tools everyone uses.

How many people?+

A few thousand at most. We'd rather have a dense room than a big one. If demand outruns the venue, voters in the winning city and early voters elsewhere get first access.

What does 'context' mean?+

Information is everywhere. Context is knowing what to do with it, and that usually comes from a person, not a page. The whole event is built to put you next to the right people.

I voted. What happens next?+

Your city moves up the board, you get a page at context-con.com/you, and you're on the list for the city announcement, registration and the program. Share your city's page to pull more votes in.

Can I change my vote?+

Yes, anytime until 1 November, from your profile. Only your current vote counts, so no city gets double-counted.

What do I leave with?+

A sharper idea of what to make next, a list of people to make it with, saved on your profile with a note of where you met, and free credits and accounts from our partners' tools.

Can I bring my team?+

Please do. Every person votes and registers individually so everyone gets their own page and their own credits.

I want to speak.+

Create your profile, then apply from the Events tab. Tell us what you did, what broke, and what you'd do now. No product pitches on stage. Speakers are announced once the city is.

I want to sponsor.+

Partners make the event free for everyone else, so we take a handful and we're picky. Create your profile, then apply from the Events tab. You'll get a reply from a human.

Is it in English?+

Yes, wherever it ends up.
